Ballwin Man Arrested in Connection With Fatal Car Crash in Imperial
The crash occurred in the early morning hours Wednesday in Imperial.

Daniel J. McGrath, 49, of Ballwin, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of manslaughter and driving while intoxicated in connection with a car crash Wednesday (Jan. 21) in which his passenger, Angela Chadd, 37, of Imperial, was killed, according to an arrest report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP).

According to a Patrol crash report, McGrath was driving a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound on Miller Road, just east of Spring Forest Road, when he failed to negotiate a turn, ran off the road, struck a rock and a tree and then overturned. Chadd was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:52 a.m. by the Rock Township Ambulance District. McGrath sustained minor injuries and was taken to St. Anthony's Medical Center, according to the Patrol crash report. Neither was wearing a seat belt, according to the report.
