C & C Butcher Shop Celebrates Grand Opening
The butcher shop boasts to be the only of its kind within 10 miles of the Ballwin-Ellisville area.
C & C Butcher Shop on Manchester Road commemmorated its opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony Aug. 23.
Shop owner Bill Torre said he's heard "people are happy" since C & C is the only butcher shop within 10 miles of the area.
"We're small and we're competitive with grocery prices," Torre said, adding that their Boar's Head meats are about $1 less per pound than Schnucks.
Torre said C & C's specialty is marinated steak tips, offering "great custom meats" and USDA quality.
"We hope customers will come out and support the smaller business," Torre told Patch.
So where did the name "C & C" come from? Torre said it's named after his two sons, whose names begin with "C."
The shop officially opened July 26 in Tammy Square at 15634 Manchester Road.

I was very excited to hear that a butcher shop was opening in our area. Something our community has needed for a long time. Unfortunately when I stopped by for a look last week, I was very disappointed. They hardly had any selection. Ther meat cases were mostly bare with only a few cuts of meat. Not what I was hoping for. Perhaps they have gotten better stocked by now and I will give them another try. A butcher shop should offer more than supermarkets, not less. We always look for fresh product and the harder to find items when we go to a specialty shop. I wish them the best but they need to have a full product offering to succeed, not just some lunch meat and a few marinated items.

Thanks for your comment! I've heard similar sentiments from other Patch readers about how they were excited for a butcher shop. Maybe another try will do!

I tried C & C Butcher Shop recently and my daughter and I were happy with the choices we were offered. In speaking with the owner we discussed other items he will be adding over the next few months. We found the steaks to be tasty and the marinated meats were a treat, just take them home and pop on them on the grill. The staff is friendly, caring and striving to meat the needs of the community.
If you can't find what you want.....ask. Anyone can complain.
Much Success to our new butcher and family

I was just there today. I have to agree with the first poster. Disappointed. The selection was so sparse it wasn't funny. They should really advertise as a marinated sirloin tip shop with a few extras. Advertising as a butcher shop is misleading. I couldn't even get ground round for a meatloaf there. Not that they were out-they don't carry it. Huh?
