Former Mayor Pirrello Will Lead Ellisville Council Meeting
The council member and former mayor will act as mayor pro tem in Mayor Adam Paul's suspension.

Ellisville City Council Member Matt Pirrello is slated to act as mayor pro tem during Mayor Adam Paul's suspension, with a hefty agenda for the council meeting Wednesday.
The meeting March 6 is the first regular council meeting without Paul at the helm since the council initiated impeachment efforts last month.

Wednesday's agenda contains several items, one of which is an amended preliminary resolution regarding Paul's removal from office. The only additions to the 11-page resolution are charges that Paul recorded recent closed meetings.
The council will vote to adopt the amended resolution Wednesday. A work session begins at 6:40 p.m. with the regular meeting starting at 7 p.m. at Ellisville City Hall.

As an Attorney, Mr Martin seems quite unfamiliar with the difference between civil law and criminal law, and seems confused that the city council is the proper venue with jurisdiction over criminal matters. If, upon belief and information, that *his client* (remember, the City Attorney serves the Council, and the Charter defines the Mayor as the first member of the Council) may be committing a crime, what does he do? He plays investigator and witness against his client, and files a criminal charge in a civil matter.
I don't know about you, but that doesn't give me confidence that Mr Martin is fit to serve as anyone's attorney, much less represent the city. He clearly demonstrates a lack of professional ethics, gross misunderstanding of basic law principles and the fundamental basis of the attoney-client relationship.
He does however, upon information and belief, think that if you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with bull excrement.

Mike K: Your comments are amusing, but dimwitted. Individuals like you, and others that post hateful diatribes concerning the city, instantly cite your constitutional rights whenever you feel you've been wronged. And rightly so. Yet whenever constitutional principles, (e.g. City Charter) directly contradict your version of reality, your ilk lack the guts to admit it. None of you have a mandate, you don't represent the Will of the People, and your ignorance of the legal tenents that preside over ALL cities in the state is shocking.
So, from here on out, lets measure suscess according to the number of legal challenges won. Any time you win a court challenge, post a comment. I will check back to see the results. But something tells me I will be waiting a long time

You apparently weren't at the meeting tonight to witness Mr. Martin submitting amendments verbally to the City Clerk and changing the resolution before the council and published to the public.
Everyone was quite baffled and the new Mayor Pro Temp's allowing Mr. Martin to propose legislation to the council verbally, changing the published resolution substantially, and then voting on it. Even the council didn't know what they voted on. If the dysfunctional council remains dysfunctional after the removal of Mayor Adam Paul, then it should be clear that the Mayor wasn't the problem.
And I understand perfectly clearly the requirements of the City Council to publish with at least 24 hours notice all ordinances and resolutions on the agenda before the council. That is NOT what happened tonight. That is shocking.
The only thing that will be "a long time" will be the taxpayers of Ellisville paying first for the council to bankrupt the city trying to remove the Mayor, and then again when they face and lose the civil and possibly criminal charges for doing so.

This is what Pirrello always wanted. HIs ego is so large, he can't seem to understand he is NO LONGER mayor. Why can't the citizens of Ellisville vote for a mayor pro tem? It definitely wouldn't be PIrrello. More kickbacks to Pirrello and his district council people who have ego's just as large as Pirrello. Too bad our city is going to look like ............

Oh, ittle mikey... have you managed to rebuild after the union thugs firebombed your duplex? I've been wondering where you've been. I thought of you yesterday as the Dow Jones hit a new high.
Thank heavens we have someone of the caliber of Mayor Pro Tem Perrillo to guide us through these troubled times. Perrillo's steady hand is just the thing little mikey needs to relieve him of the existential stress of there being no Walmart in Ellisville yet.
