A street light on the north side of Manchester Road in Ballwin was downed by high speed winds around 3 p.m. Wednesday in the 14700 block of Manchester Road, located between Batteries Plus and Vista Properties.

Michael Thiemann of the Metro West Fire Protection District said Wednesday's winds, which the National Weather Service said includes gusts up to 45 miles per hour, have done similar damage elsewhere in the county.

"It's just all over the place because this wind is just insane," Thiemann said.

A wind advisory is in effect for St. Louis County and various other parts of eastern and central Missouri until 6 p.m.
