New Star Wars Movie: Good or Bad Idea?
With Disney's purchase of Lucasfilm comes an announcement of Star Wars: Episode VII, with an expected release in 2015.

It's a question nearly as old as the sci-fi genre: Should there be another Star Wars film?
Well, folks, Star Wars: Episode VII is reportedly on the way. Disney announced its purchase of Lucasfilm on Tuesday, and pegged a 2015 release for the new film. More movies are expected to follow.
Forbes reported that the deal includes $4.05 billion in cash and stock.
Does that mean we'll see Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo and Chewbacca on the big screen again, or do you think Disney will take a different approach to the new Star Wars movies?
And do you think the new movies will dilute the captivating storyline from the first six films?
As a lifelong Star Wars fan, I couldn't be happier. I remember curling up on the couch during sick days from grade school to watch Luke Skywalker battle Darth Vader. And it was incredible watching the midnight release of The Phantom Menace while in middle school.
Now, I'll be able to share these experiences with a new generation of Star Wars fans.
But I know some fans disagree with me. They don't think a new movie should be created. George Lucas even dismissed the possibility as recently as March.
So, tell us, where do you stand after today's announcement? Are you excited or dismayed by the announcement of a new Star Wars movie?

Holy bantha poodoo! I must have been working too hard, I did not see that coming at all. A film 7. Without Lucas' terrible writing or a rebel fleet of "yes men" to tell him everything is perfect. Wow. I'm kinda excited.

After the release of episodes 1 through 3, I don't think another movie could do anything to further tarnish the story, and you know Disney won't hold back when it comes to putting money into it. It should be good.

Because we all that pouring money into something is the best way to make it good. That's why all the Hollywood blockbusters these days are such paragons of cinema.
