Rockwood schools honored this year's Veterans Day, Nov. 11, with different events and activities throughout the district.

With the holiday falling on a Sunday this year, schools participated in recognizing veterans with events leading up to the date as well as the following Monday.

At Westridge Elementary Nov. 9, veterans were invited from letters by students to a breakfast and a celebration assembly. Student music groups performed, scouts presented the flag and 5th grade students read essays about serving the country.
