Don't use Warrior unless you served. Many of us Veterans would take that as an insult.

I know it's outrageous, but back when I was much younger, Goodwill hired disabled people, mostlyRead More mentally challenged, not to provide them with an income so much as to either train them for work to develop skills, and to give them something to live for, and to have something for them to do. They used to be quite visible, and they were not very productive, they were handicapped. It would take them ten times longer to put the purchases in bags as it would a regular employee. The people Goodwill hires, and I really don't know what they get, are not usually employable anywhere else, cannot perform as well as anywhere else, and I would think are happy to have a job. It sounds heartless, but if we should expect Goodwill to hire the handicapped at $7.00 an hour is reasonable, why don't we hire them to be preschool teachers and bus drivers and policemen? On a more positive side, I shop at Schnucks more than elsewhere, the deciding factor is that they hire the elderly, the physically challenged, and even some who are mentally challenged. Those people at my area Schnucks are wonderful workers and highly productive as well as wanting to please. I really doubt anyone anywhere is paying twenty-seven cents an hour, but would sure want to find the facts on it, and the rationale. If it is true it would be useful to find out who and where and why. Please!
