The Ballwin Police Department will be conducting a Citizen’s Police Academy class on Wednesdays from September 12, 2012 to November 28, 2012. The academy will last ten weeks and will meet from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.
Participants will receive instruction on patrol techniques, traffic enforcement, accident investigation, crime scene processing, and police communications. The academy is designed to provide interested citizens with a better idea of how their police department operates and the police work within the criminal justice system.
To participate, a person must be at least 18 years old and either a Ballwin resident or work within the city limits. Those interested can contact Officer Shaun Doerr or Officer Sarah Bonsee at (636) 227-9636 for an application.

The Ballwin City Courts and Police department has been ensuring the safety of Ballwin visitors and residents since 1950. Divisions include patrol, dispatch, crime investigation, traffic and speed enforcement, neighborhood watch, DARE, RUOK and COPS. Ballwin police are active in a number of community events such as attending neighborhood block parties and safety seminars.
