Submit Your Story to Listen To Your Mother!

If you have a story about being a mom, having a mom, or anything related to the crazy journey we call motherhood, we want to hear your story! St. Louis is one of 32 cities across the country giving Mother’s Day a microphone in the acclaimed series of live readings known as Listen To Your Mother (LTYM).

We are currently seeking submissions for the 2nd annual LTYM St. Louis, which will be held Saturday, May 10, with TWO performances, 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., at St. Luke’s Institute of Health Education, in Chesterfield.

Each show is produced, directed, and performed by the local community, for the local community. Last year LTYM St. Louis raised nearly a thousand dollars for Connections To Success, and this year’s proceeds will benefit Girls In The Know, a nonprofit group designed to educate and empower moms and their daughters.

We are currently accepting submissions through February 21. Everyone—moms, non-moms, sons, daughters, dads, too—are welcome to submit a story, as long as motherhood is the theme of your original piece of work.

Born of the creative work of mothers who publish online, also known as bloggers, the first LTYM was held in Madison, Wisconsin in 2010, and has since grown every year to become a national movement in celebration of motherhood.

“LTYM debuted in St. Louis last year and was a huge hit, with two nearly sold out shows and hundreds of dollars and awareness raised for an important local cause. The best part—LTYM really puts our community in the spotlight and brings everyone together,” said Ellie Grossman, co-producer/director.

“Mother’s Day is more than brunch and the Laumeier Art Fair in St. Louis.

We want LTYM St. Louis to be a new tradition on Mother’s Day weekend and invite everyone to be a part of this great celebration, which is not only shared locally but globally through our LTYM YouTube channel.”
