91% of Ellisville Survey Respondents Said Recent Media Attention is Bad for Community

A group of concerned Ellisville citizens released the summary of their findings from an online poll to which they report 215 residents responded. They asked about corruption, transparency and Mayor Adam Paul.

An online survey of Ellisville residents shows that 91 percent believe recent media attention over the suspension of Ellisville Mayor Adam Paul and other recent city issues had reflected badly on the municipality.

And while the response rate for the survey was low, another large majority—86.2 percent—said the mayor should remain in office.

The survey was available to residents between March 11-28. Of Ellisville's 9,133 population, 215 responded to the survey—about 2.4 percent.

Ballwin-Ellisville Patch received the results from Mark Vogel, senior partner at Avant Marketing Group, the firm that produced and offered the survey. He tells Patch that Ellisville resident Liz Schmidt was part of the citizen committee that provided input for the survey questions.

Vogel said the main points about this survey were:

  • It was developed and administered by an independent research firm.
  • A total of 215 residents participated in the survey.
  • Duplicated IP Addresses were removed from the survey findings to eliminate multiple survey taking by individuals.
  • Participation was totally volunteer with no quotas established.
  • Participants from both sides of the issues had equal opportunity to participate in the survey.

Residents from different portions of Ellisville were split relatively evenly, with 52.8 percent indicating their zip code was 63021 and 47.2 percent signaling their zip code was 63011.

Age break-downs included:
