Ellisville Residents Have 'Night Out' With Police

'National Night Out' helped bring neighbors and police closer together on Tuesday.

People across the City of Ellisville got the chance to meet up with neighbors and better know their local police at Tuesday's "National Night Out."

The event was , as police departments nationwide encouraged residents to get to know one another to help coordinate crime prevention.

Tuesday's event also included appearances from several city representatives including Mayor Matt Pirrello, City Manager Kevin Bookout and Council Members Dawn Anglin and Linda Reel.

Law enforcement personnel also met with neighbors in order to hand out giveaways for kids and to help inform community members about crime prevention. Ellisville Police at Tuesday's various block-parties included Lieutenant John Connor, Sergeant Nancy Walker, Detectives Al Carter and Brian Gillaspie and Patrolmen Doug Algren, Chuck Kraus, John Rakonick and Corey Smith.

Walker said after the event that she was thankful for the support from participating neighborhoods, which included the Cherry Hills West, Mar-el Court, Polo and Ranchmoor areas. Walker also reiterated the value of meeting your neighbors and local law enforcement.
