Get Out: Book Sale and Trivia Night Tops the Weekend Doings

Each week, Ballwin-Ellisville Patch will provide you with a list of upcoming weekend events.

It’s Thursday, and if you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend, then Patch is coming to the rescue! Check out our picks for upcoming activities to hit and new places to explore:


Where: Daniel Boone Branch; Thursday, Feb. 24 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, Feb. 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Why Go: To get amazing deals on around 10,000 items including bestsellers, DVD's, CD's, books for adults, children and teens and more!
Price: Price of items for sale.


Where: St. John's Church; Friday, Feb. 25 at 6:30 p.m.
Why Go: To take part in a silent auction, enjoy games and win prizes as well as benefiting the St. Louis Ballet School expansion fund.
Price: Cost is $25 per person or $175 per table of 8.


Where: Dierbergs at Clarkson/Clayton; Friday and Saturday (repeat class), Feb. 25 and Feb. 26 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Why Go: Roll up your sleeves and have some fun creating your own culinary magic in the kitchen with a spouse, date or friend!

Price: $80 per couple. 


Where: St. Charles Convention Center; Friday, Feb. 25 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 26 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sunday, Feb. 27 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: To experience the "Ultimate Girl's Day Out" with over 350 exhibits, unique products and services, lots of food, fashion, fitness, health, and fun! 

Price: Regular Adult Price - $9.00 / Regular Child Price (Age 6-11) - $7.00 / Regular Senior Price (Age 60+) - $7.00 / College Student - $5.00 / Gift Card - $10.00 / 2 Day Pass/Wristband - $12.00 / Children 6 and Under - FREE.



Where: St Paul’s Lutheran Church; Sunday, Feb. 27 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Why Go: To enjoy a fun and unique culinary event, featuring around 20 soups, chowders and chili provided from well-known area restaurants. And you will not only be filling your plate with delicous food but wonderful fellowship and live entertainment!
Price: $15 for adults (13 and older), $5 for children 5-12 and children under 5 eat free. $7 of the adult ticket price is tax deductible.


Where:  Hilton St. Louis Frontenac; Sunday, Feb. 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Why Go:  To empower girls ages 11 to 18 to dream big, imagine and believe in a future they can create. This is an event not to miss!
Pricing: $10.


Where: Corner of Menard and Allen in Soulard; Sunday, Feb. 27. Register at 10 a.m. as the parade steps off at 1 p.m.
Why Go:  To join the thousands of pets as they take over the streets of Soulard to celebrate the 18th annual Beggin’ Pet Parade and "Tail"gating Party!
Price: $10
