A Robot's Take on Ballwin

In Ballwin-Ellisville Patch's constant search to find readers information that will help make their day easier, inform them about their cities and tell interesting stories from within their community, we use a variety of platforms to find news people are interested in.

Sometimes that news comes from a or local office holder. Other times it comes directly from a or concerned resident. And occasionally, Ballwin-Ellisville Patch's Facebook page and Twitter account help us connect with readers to identify what's happening in the community. One such instance occurred last summer, when a , resulting in the loss of electricity for about 25,000 people throughout Ballwin and St. Louis County. After multiple area residents questioned why their power was out, we contacted Ameren Missouri to discover the (literally) twisted reason behind the outage.

More recently, however, a series of somewhat bizarre and at times even poetic Tweets regarding Ballwin have been posted on Twitter. In what appear to be "Robo Tweets," a generic term referring to automated Twitter posts, Ballwin has been described in ways that sound more appropos for a printed haiku than a digital quip about our city.

Some of the unusual Tweets about Ballwin include the following:

"ballwin, mo is fancies and sentiments!!!" —@gizehymakiso

Notice the common structure of the Tweets, many of which include a time reference and then a declaration about the city using two words. Strange? Yes. Helpful? Probably not. Entertaining? I think so.
