Patch Reader Asks: Where the #!@% is the 'Spoiler Alert'?

Patch readers help us every week with smart, informative comments that help us and our readers.

Check out some of Patch's most thought provoking and unique comments found throughout the St. Louis area in the last week:

The Rep's 'Macbeth': "Why do reviewers insist on RUINING all possibility of surprise by giving a complete summary of a play without warning readers of SPOILERS? How will a person who has never read or seen this piece of theatre get the experience of it with all of the details printed in black and white? ARGH."   -Tristan, Kirkwood-Webster Groves Patch

: "Tear it all down and plant trees. It is disgusting."

: "Second-hand smoke is harmful to the health of others. There is no safe level of second-hand smoke. Setting aside areas for smokers has been proved ineffective. This should be a no-brainer. Whole countries in Europe are going smoke-free. Why is the obvious so hard in St. Louis Missouri?"
- John Ross Truman, Clayton-Richmond Heights Patch

: "I find this so sad. There's something so comforting about grabbing a coffee and physically browsing for books, as opposed to ordering online. I love interacting online, but the feel of a book cannot be replaced!"

Ban Red-Light Cameras in Jefferson County: "Let's start with if you run a red light you get points assessed against you. Currently, if you run a red light and are caught on video, you get no points assessed against you. So any person who constantly runs a red light policed by a camera can do so without any fear of losing their license. However if you are caught by an actual policeman, you get a moving violation ticket and the points go on your record. That is what you call a deterrent. Without an enforceable deterrent we will never remove these bad drivers from the road."
- Stan Willis, Arnold Patch

"I am disappointed that Mayor Welsch and Ms. Ricci are using a technicality to defend the removal of Ms. Nickerson from the sales tax board ... If Ms. Ricci wants to say that Ms. Nickerson was an improper appointment, then she also needs to step up and say that bringing the vote against the former city manager was improper as well."
- Cindy, University City Patch

"Just to refresh our memories, when (Universal Dance Association) had the Prop Division, the Flyerettes consistently placed in the top 5—even as high as second place. It's the same category that made the Flyerettes perennial state champs—as well with their last state championship the last year, they won state in 2007."
- Michelle Luebbert, Sunset Hills-Crestwood Patch
