• In response to a report about comparatively high prices for food and drink at Busch Stadium, reader Suzanne Gundlach shared her take on catering for Cardinals fans: "We've had season tickets for years, but always eat our meal ahead of time and just get one beverage at the ballpark at most. For the same price as a hotdog and drink, we can have a moderate sit-down dinner in a nicer restaurant!! Prices at the stadium are ridiculous."

• An ongoing controversy in is the construction of a Walmart Superstore, which was in a deal that includes special tax incentives for the project's developers.

Patch user , who said she is a resident of Clarkchester Apartments, a complex scheduled to be demolished in order to make room for the Walmart project:

"I am a resident of Clarkchester Apartments and have been for 17 years since the age of 5. It's hard for some people to understand how devastating this approval can be if it doesn't affect your life directly. Those apartments have been my life and childhood for almost my entire life. Yes, it is just an apartment, but to me it is the only home I know. Now my mom has to figure out how to stretch her money even more just to afford to live, among many other residents! Take a second and try to imagine your mom trying to afford to survive and then forced to leave her home with only $1,000 dollars in her pocket. That's tough, right? I thought so."

• Another user, , had a different take on the Walmart project:

"we have lived in ellisville since 1982. My youngest son worked part time at the walmart in chesterfield valley to save enough money for college. He went to st louis univ and then on to univ of chicago law school. He married a fellow lawyer he met there, now lives in washington, dc and between them make >$500 annually. If it had not been for his job at walmart, non of this would have happened. Walmart in Ellisville will be the best thing that has ever happened to this city."
