"The Lola Papers" Written by Amy L. Marxkors

Meet Amy L. Marxkors author of The Lola Papers: Marathons, Misadventures, and How I Became a Serious Runner.

This book tells the story of Amy's inadvertent headfirst dive into the world of serious distance running, chronicling the crazy adventures that happen along the way. Above all, it highlights the metaphor of the marathon and life. It is a fun, humorous, and thoughtful read.

Author Amy L. Marxkors grew up in the rural outskirts of St. Louis. She dreamed of one day being a cowgirl, a detective, an NFL quarterback, a Harvard professor, and a member of the U.S. Women’s Olympic Ice Hockey team. Reality, however, did not always comply with Amy’s dreams, probably because some of her aspirations weren’t entirely practical. Undeterred and always the optimist, Amy had no doubt she would one day discover a hidden talent that would land her in the Olympics or the encyclopedia.
