Ballwin Commercial Strip Fetches $21.5 Million

The plaza that once was home to Borders sold for $21.5 million, according to Retail Traffic magazine.

Baby supplies. New clothes. Candy and games. No, it's not a wishlist composed by toddler fashionistas—it's the retail makeup of the 15300 block of Manchester Road in Ballwin, which helped fetch a sum of $21.5 million in a recent property purchase.

The news comes courtesy of Retail Traffic magazine, which reported that Ramco-Gershenson Properties Trust bought Central Plaza, which once had Borders Books and Music serve as its anchor store. After closing last spring, Borders was replaced last month with buy buy Baby, owned by Bed Bath & Beyond, as well as Jo-Ann Fabrics & Crafts, Office Max and a yet-to-open Ross Dress for Less.

Retail Traffic reported that Ben Wineman of Mid-America Real Estate Group—Missouri LLC and Scott Seyfried of Pace Properties represented the seller in the transaction while Ramco-Gershenson Properties represented itself.
