'BeautyFirst' in Ballwin Sets Closure Date

The cosmetics and beauty product retailer is having various sales in anticipation of doors set to shutter later this month.

BeautyFirst in Ballwin is scheduled to close Dec. 27 according to a report in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, which comes roughly two months after the cosmetics store announced it was going out of business.

The , located at 14862 Manchester Road, is hosting sales on products like conditioner, nail polish and travel-sized products in order to have the space cleared out by the targeted closure date, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

BeautyFirst lists its headquarters in Golden Valley, MN. An employee at the Ballwin store that the corporately-owned business was renting under a 10-year lease, which the owners decided not to renew.

"And beyond that, they haven’t really given a reason," sales associate Emily Dougherty said.

In July 2010, Reuters reported that the Trade Secret beauty salon chain, which operates salons under the Trade Secret, Beauty Express, BeautyFirst and PureBeauty brands filed for bankruptcy protection. The report also said the chain planned to transfer its 600-plus salons to a new entity with the financial backing of Regis Corp, a creditor and former owner.
