New Dress Rental Shop Now Open in Manchester

One Night Stand is a new West St. Louis County dress rental shop offering party and cocktail dress rentals, accessories, shoes and a whole lot more!

One Night Stand officially opened at its Manchester location this weekend. It celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony Saturday.

It's located in one of the Victorian style homes just southwest of the Manchester Road and Route 141 intersection at 121 Old Meramec Station Road.

The store, owned by Ballwin native Jennifer Kohm, offers party and cocktail dress rental, accessories, shoes, tights and more. Kohm tells Patch they have everything to complete your "night out" ensemble. The store also offers a prom dress selection.

Kohm said the majority of the dresses retail anywhere from $100-$300 and some are even more expensive than that. However, rental prices vary from $25-$40 for a three-day rental and dresses can also be rented for six days at a discounted rate.

Kohm tells Patch that she's always had a passion for fashion and the idea for the dress rental shop comes from her experiences about 10 years ago, when she was a freshman in college.

"I was just going to a lot of weddings... and I was constantly getting a new dress," Kohm explained. "I was constantly running into the same people and didn't want to be wearing the same dress each time so I was spending 100 dollars each time and I thought, 'I wish there was somewhere you could just rent a dress and not have to waste your money on it and have it in your closet forever.'"

She said her store is a great solution for girls and women who don't want to spend the money on a dress they'll likely only wear once or twice.

"I'm the girl who has three hundred dresses," Kohm said. "It's a little ridiculous."

Store hours are as follows:

  • Sun. - Closed
  • Mon. - Thurs. - 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Sat. - 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Customers can soon visit the One Night Stand website at 1nightstandstl.com, but for now it is under construction. The store's Facebook page is up and running though, so check it out!
