Report: Castlewood Treatment Center Exec Out

The Ballwin-area eating disorder treatment center has been the subject of lawsuits claiming treatment left clients there with false memories of sexual abuse.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the director of the Castlewood Treatment Center in Ballwin is no longer involved with the facility, or an expansion site in California. The firm has been the subject of four lawsuits filed within the last year, with clients of the eating disorder clinic claiming that the therapy used there left them with false memories of sexual abuse.

Last year, the clinic said at the time of the accusations that the allegations in the original lawsuit were “false, absurd and bizarre” and that the other suits were copycats. The Post-Dispatch reports that a Los Angeles-based spokesman for the treatment center said founder Mark Schwartz and partner Lori Galperin have not been involved in "daily operations" at Castlewood since December.
