St. Louis' Charter Communications to Hire 100 Employees

West County based Charter Communications is hosting a job fair Tuesday. The company plans to hire approximately 100 employees at the beginning of 2013.

Town and Country based Charter Communications is hosting a job fair Tuesday, Jan. 8. The company plans to hire approximately 100 employees. Most will work in the call center located in Town and Country Commons, near the intersection of Highway 141 and Clayton Road.

The job fair is 11:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m. and from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Sheraton Westport Chalet, 191 Westport Plaza in Maryland Heights.

As previously reported by Patch, this news comes after Charter's October announcement that the company was relocating its corporate headquarters from Town and Country to Connecticut. At the time of the announcement, Charter also said it would be hiring more call center and local employees.

According to Charter Spokesperson Jessica Hardecke, the corporate move is now complete. She said the nearly 100 new positions are for service advisors and sales specialists who will handle customer calls from across the country.

"Charter is seeking candidates with experience delivering world class customer service, computer and/or technical skills and sales aptitude," a company news release stated.

Hardecke said interested candidates must bring current resumes with them Tuesday. Hiring managers will be on site at the job fair and interviews may be conducted that day.

Candidates are also encouraged to dress professionally, Hardecke added.

"We'll review all the resumes and such and make offers to the select candidates shortly after," Hardecke tells Patch.

She said training classes will begin in January and run through the first half of the year.

"So we'll be bringing people on as quickly as possible,"Hardecke said.

About 700 people currently work at the Town and Country Commons call center, Hardecke added.
