Chamber of Commerce Executives of Missouri (CCEM) members elected new officers for 2013, and one local leader was among them. West St. Louis County Chamber of Commerce President Lori Kelling will serve as a director, starting a three-year term with CCEM in January.
West St. Louis County Chamber of Commerce has serviced the communities of Ballwin, Clarkson Valley, Ellisville, Manchester, Twin Oaks, Valley Park, Wildwood and Winchester for more than 50 years.
The state chamber organization is organized to strengthen chamber management through professional growth and development opportunities. Its purpose is to promote increased efficiency of management skills by chamber of commerce executives. The new leaders were selected during the CCEM Fall Conference on Oct. 3-5 in Rolla, MO.
In addition to Kelling, the other new CCEM officers are:
- President—Stevie Kearse, Rolla Area Chamber of Commerce
- Vice President—Erin Williams, O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce
- Past President—Karla Martinez, Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce
- Director—Ginger Lamar, Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce
Kelling said specific projects that she's likely to work on include organizing and implementing two conferences: One in the spring that is a four-state conference including Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas and Oklahoma; and one in the fall that moves locations each year. During 2013, the fall conference will be in Kansas City.
Each of these conferences provides professional growth and development opportunities for CCEM members through professional speakers, breakout groups and tips for chambers in Missouri to be successful, Kelling said.
"It is a huge honor to be on the board," she said.
CCEM also initiates relationships between staff members, encouraging them to work together to learn, share and improve their skills in chamber management, and to work for Missouri's economic growth.
