World Series Trophy to Stop in Ellisville

The ultimate symbol of the St. Louis Cardinals' 2011 glory is coming to Ellisville this weekend.

The 2011 World Series Trophy is coming to town Saturday as Ellisville welcomes the most famed piece of baseball hardware to one of its local businesses.

The trophy will appear at the U.S. Cellular store, located at 23 Clarkson Road, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

“Through our partnership with the Cardinals, we are always looking for ways to enhance the fan experience,” U.S. Cellular representative Michelle Groves said in a written statement.

Want to savor of the moment but don't have a camera? Fear not. Store associates will be taking pictures that can then be emailed in order to share your piece of St. Louis baseball history with family and friends.

The 30-pound trophy stands two-feet tall and features 30 gold-plated flags, one for each of the Major League Baseball teams, which rise above an arched baseball with latitude and longitude lines symbolizing the world. To ensure the proper preservation, the trophy will be traveling in a case in its own luxury vehicle, as it has throughout its U.S. tour.
