BSR Services Named First Midwest Company To Earn Accreditation

BSR Services recently became the first Midwest company to earn ISO 9001/SN 9001 certification through the Accredited Snow Contractors Association (ASCA).  The company, which is St. Louis' largest locally owned and operated snow and ice management provider, is the second in the country to achieve this accreditation.

The newly created ISO 9001/SN 9001 system is exclusive to professional snow contractors and designed to improve upon existing methods.  The accreditation process involves an independent third-party audit that evaluates a company's procedures and industry standards.  The audit focuses on proper contractor training and implementation for the professional snow and ice management industry.

BSR selected Smithers Quality Assessments to perform the certification based on its industry knowledge.  The process included a pre-assessment visit, an internal audit and management review in accordance with the industry's international standards.

With the backing of this new accreditation, BSR will experience validation from both peers and customers.  "The benefit to gaining ISO 9001 is priceless," said BSR president Carl Bolm.  "We will be able to utilize this certification so clients recognize our dedication and expertise."

A large portion of accreditation focuses on staying safe and
accident-free in terms of snow-specific equipment and regulations.  Bolm added that "from a slip and fall standpoint, a company that has the ISO 9001 certification may be the target of less lawsuits.  With the recent historic winter that we experienced, the new process provides an even more thorough checklist to our existing standard operating procedures."

BSR Services is located at 2340 Verna Ave. in Maryland Heights, Mo.  For more information, call (314) 569-3005 or visit the website at www.bsrservices.com
