Ballwin Native Grady Powell on NBC's 'Stars Earn Stripes'
The network show premiered Monday evening with Powell, a former Green Beret, as part of the cast.
NBC's latest reality series, "Stars Earn Stripes," takes celebrities into the lives of U.S. service members overseas, competing in military-inspired challenges to win money for charity.
Ballwin native Grady Powell joined the cast as a service operative, aiding celebrity contestants in their challenges. Powell served as a Green Beret in the U.S. Army for five years, according to his bio on NBC, and is now a world traveler.
Competing celebrities include Laila Ali, Dean Cain, Terry Crews, Nick Lachey, Todd Palin, Picabo Street, Dolvett Quince and Eve Torres.

Powell said in an interview on STLToday.com that the show helps "raise awareness for veterans" in addition to raising money for charity. He was also featured on KSDK Monday night before the premiere Aug. 13.
"Stars Earn Stripes" airs 8/7c Monday evenings on NBC.
