A group of five people who told police they were a family of 'gypsies' were arrested by police this week after allegedly stealing about 40 iPhones from an phone dealership. All five of the subjects, who range in age from 18 to 48, face felony stealing charges.

Jerry L. Brooks, 44, who maintains a Ballwin, MO address, was charged with robbing Community State Bank in Troy, MO on May 22. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch said that during the robbery, Brooks passed a bank teller a note demanding cash and stating that he was armed. Brooks later was charged with armed criminal action and first-degree robbery.


An obituary published by this week said Anna Conger, 84, died on Tuesday following a house fire that Saturday night in the 100 block of Coral Terrace, multiple news outlets reported.

As a result of Tuesday's ballot issue, the sewer bill for the average single family served by the Metropolitan Sewer District of St. Louis (MSD) is expected to rise from $28.73 to $31.34 starting July 1. MSD has approximately 415,000 customer accounts, according to information posted on its website.
