The 2011 Marching Band season was a busy and successful year. Six competitions were attended by the band. Each performance resulted in making finals and bringing home trophies. The most memorable being, the first time since 1999, the Parkway West High marching band won first place in their division at the Greater St. Louis Marching Band Festival. They also swept all three categories winning outstanding music, visual and general effect. The band competition is the closest equivalent to a state championship for marching bands, attracting teams from Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas and Illinois.

“We are all very proud of these students,” said Ben Pyatt, band director. They represent the best of what West High has to offer - great attitudes, discipline, strong leadership, passion and commitment to excellence.” Pyatt credits the success of the band to dedicated students, supportive and hard-working parents and a great staff of instructors.

The students in the band directly benefit from this fundraiser and will be on hand on Friday evening, to help vendors unload and setup. The band and the booster parents are dedicated to ensuring a professional and service oriented day. The continued success, combined with a friendly volunteer staff and community support has vendors, artisans and crafters returning annually.

We wish you will consider joining us in October at our Fall Arts and Crafts Fair.
