Parkway Swim Club Promotes Holiday Cheer with Ronald McDonald House Fundraiser

Parkway Swim Club members were honored and humbled to be able to support the Ronald McDonald House families who will be spending their holidays away from home...

This weekend, the generous hearts of Parkway Swim Club came together by hosting a Ronald McDonald House Fundraiser at theirAnnual Holiday Pentathlon Swim Meet.  For the past few weeks, Parkway Swim Club with members in West, South and North counties have been sending out emails, flyers and raising awareness of this worthwhile cause. Collection boxes were set up at each session for Ronald McDonald House HOLIDAY WISH LIST items at the swim meet held at Parkway North High School.

" Parkway swimmers, coaches and parents were honored and humbled to be able to support the Ronald McDonald House families who will be spending their holidays away from home”, shared Head Coach Colin Kennedy.

“ Many families travel far from home to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children. Often, it can be a long time to be away from home, or to divide a family. And, for children facing a serious medical crisis, nothing seems scarier than not having their mom and dad close by for love and support.

Our Ronald McDonald Houses provides a “home-away-from-home” for families so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little or no cost. Our Houses are built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on healing their child – not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest.” Quoted from STL Ronald McDonald House website: www.rmhcstl.com
