Ballwi-Area Man Arraigned on Stalking, Dog-Stealing
A woman's ex-boyfriend who lives near Ballwin broke into her apartment and took her dog, disobeying a protection order, police said.
A St. Louis County man was arraigned Tuesday in St. Charles County Circuit Court on charges related to harassing a woman.
Theodore Lee Nance, 28, of the 1200 block of Orchard Village, is charged with first-degree burglary, aggravated stalking, stealing an animal and four counts of violating a protection order.
According to a report, Nance entered his ex-girlfriend’s apartment while her roommate was home Oct. 18 and took her dog. Police said he kept the dog for three weeks until police located the animal at his home.

Police also said that “Nance has been known to stalk the victim and is on recording as saying he has done recon on her and her apartment.”
The victim obtained an order of protection against Nance on Nov. 30. Police said Nance violated the protection order four times since Dec. 25 by calling his ex-girlfriend and her mother, threatening to steal the dog a second time.

Police said Nance “has shown complete disregard for the ex parte order.”
Nance is being held in St. Charles County jail. Bond was set at $100,000.
