Police Release Surveillance Photos After Ballpark ATM Theft

Do you recognize this man caught on surveillance video? Ballwin police want to talk to him after an ATM was stolen from the Ballwin Athletic Association.

The following information was provided by the Ballwin Police Department. An arrest does not mean there was a conviction.

As previously reported by Ballwin-Ellisville Patch, an ATM machine located at the Ballwin Athletic Association Complex at 1 Ballpark Drive was stolen in the early morning hours of July 27.

Friday afternoon, Ballwin police released the following update on the investigation and the surveillance photos in this article.

Between 12:49 AM and 1:17 AM on July 27th, an unidentified male stole an automatic teller machine from the concession stand of the Ballwin Athletic Association at #1 Ballpark Drive.  The same suspect also damaged a light and cut and stole a padlock.

The suspect is seen on security video cutting the lock with a bolt-cutter and opening the metal gates to the area where the ATM was located.  He then returns with a large pry bar, damages a floodlight and then dislodges the ATM from its concrete mooring.  He returns a third time and is seen carrying and then dragging the ATM westbound through the ballpark and into the adjoining woods. 

Pieces of the ATM were recovered in the woods.  The rest is believed to have been loaded into a vehicle parked on the lot of Schrader’s Funeral Home.

The male suspect is approximately 5’10” to 6’ tall and between 200 and 220 pounds.  He has dark hair with pronounced sideburns.
