Ballwin Burglary Results in $18K in Stolen Goods

More than $18,000 worth of property was stolen from an apartment off Manchester Road in Ballwin last week, the Ballwin Police Department reports.

More than $18,000 worth of jewelry, cash, clothes and appliances were stolen sometime between 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9 and 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11 from a home in the 100 block of Steamboat Lane at Village Park Apartments in Ballwin. No one was injured.

Officer Sarah Bonsee said there was no forced entry into the home, though the victim reported its door was locked. Police are in the process of interviewing neighbors for possible leads, she said.

Bonsee said it’s difficult to project the likelihood of the goods being recovered, particularly jewelry.

“It can be (recovered), but at the same time there’s no serial number on them, so it varies,” Bonsee said. “Sometimes it gets recovered, sometimes it doesn’t.”
