Ballwin 'Click It or Ticket' Resumes Friday

The city's last ramp up on seatbelt safety in the fall was met with 45 traffic citations.

Drivers in Ballwin may want to think twice about getting behind the wheel Friday without their seatbelt secured.

The Ballwin Police Department and law enforcement agencies throughout the state will be taking part in another "Click It or Ticket" campaign in an effort to promote safer driving.

“We’ll be out there to remind you seat belts can–and do–save lives," Ballwin Police Chief Steve Shicker said.

Missouri law enforcement say nearly one in four motorists do not use a seatbelt while driving, despite reports that about seven out of ten fatal traffic collisions involved drivers or passengers not wearing seatbelts.

On the city's last Click It Or Ticket push on Nov. 18, the issued a total of 45 traffic citations, including 8 seat belt tickets, 11 speeding tickets and 26 other traffic violations.
