Ballwin Hosting Driver Safety Course with AARP

The event next month is aimed at drivers age 50 and older, with an emphasis on various defensive driving techniques.

The Ballwin Police Department will be hosting the AARP’s Driver Safety seminar on Tuesday July 17, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will take place at the located at 333 Holloway Road. 

This safety course is geared towards drivers age 50 and older and focuses on a review of driving skills, defensive driving techniques, and learning to accommodate age-related physical changes. Attendance may qualify participants for lower insurance rates.

This July session offers a special promotion for all current and retired educators and school personnel.  This includes any individuals who do or have worked for a school district or university in any capacity, including custodians, secretaries, aides, pre-school or Sunday school teachers, professors, guidance counselors, music directors, nurses, and homeschool parents.  The cost is $5 per participant.

For all other people interesting in attending, the cost is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members. Payment in the form of cash or check can be made the morning of the meeting.
