Ballwin Police Detail Possible Vandalism, Thefts

The Ballwin Police Department details various crime incidents from mid-July, including a possible connection between two cases vehicles driving through roadwork.

• A vehicle drove through wet concrete between 2 p.m. on July 14 and 7:30 a.m. July 15 just north of the intersection of Country Club and Claymont drives.

Officer Sarah Bonsee said the crime was similar to where a vehicle drove through unfinished concrete work on Windcliffe Drive.

“As far as the (investigative) notes I have access to, it’s not saying that they’re related, but it’s kind of an odd coincidence as far as my thinking goes,” Bonsee said.

Environmental circumstances may make a positive correlation difficult.

“On one of them, due to the heat, they really weren’t able to find any of the tread marks because of the weather when it was reported,” Bonsee said. “So the comparison is kind of hard.”

The damage from each incident was estimated at $3,000.

• Cash totaling $125 was stolen from Mr. C’s Ice Cream Emporium between 10 p.m. on July 14 and 12 p.m. on July 15.

Officer Sarah Bonsee said a similar incident occurred at the same business earlier this month.

“It’s possibly related to another theft that was employee related, but at this time, (according to) the report that I mentioned, they’ve not been able to interview (the suspect).

• An audio mixing board was stolen at 6 p.m. on July 16 from Radio Shack at 15517 Manchester Road. The device was valued at $110.

Monte Scott, 43, and Temetrius Johnson, 34, both of St. Louis, were arrested on the scene based on active warrants from another law enforcement agency. A third suspect involved in the alleged larceny incident has not yet been identified.
