Ballwin Police Herald 'Click It or Ticket' Success

The Ballwin Police Department reportedly issued 45 traffic citations on the designated safetybelt-awareness day.

During a recent campaign aimed at encouraging vehicle safety, Ballwin police issued dozens of citations, including 8 tickets written for failure to wear safety belts.

The "Click It or Ticket" campaign on Nov. 18 involved the , the and others, all of whom vowed to be extra diligent enforcing traffic safety and seatbelt use that day. The Ballwin Police Department reportedly issued a total of 45 tickets, including 11 speeding tickets, 8 tickets issued for failure to wear a seatbelt and 26 miscellaneous traffic violations.

“Seat belts are your single best defense in a crash,” Police Chief Steve Schicker said in a news release. “We will continue to encourage drivers to make a simple, smart choice to buckle up and 'arrive alive.'”
