Ellisville Mobil Station Burglarized

The Ellisville Police Department reports that the Mobil gas station and convenience store on Ellisville Town Centre Drive was burglarized this week.

The Mobil on the Run gas station at 8 Ellisville Town Centre Drive was burglarized some time between 11 p.m. Tuesday and 4:40 a.m. Wednesday, Ellisville Police reported.

Police said the suspect gained access to the business by throwing a large rock through the convenience store's glass door.

Cigarettes, alcohol and an unknown amount of money was taken from the store. Police said the owner still is taking inventory of the reported losses, as well as estimated damages.

"The store was trashed by knocking over stuff and opening drawers and pulling out items," Sgt. Nancy Walker said.

The burglar damaged the cash registers at the store, Walker said, and unsuccessfully tried to break open its ATM.

Ellisville police are in the process of reviewing security tapes in order to identify what appears to be a male suspect.

"There is a suspect on tape, but until it is cleared up, if [that's] possible, they can't tell what he looks like," Walker said,
