Monarch Fire Takes a Moment for 9/11

The fire protection district as a crew observed Patriot Day and remembered the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

The members of the Monarch Fire Protection District may have been in different places 11 years ago the morning of Sept. 11, but they all stood together this year.

Monarch firefighters, paramedics and administrative staff across five engine houses recognized the lives lost in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, through the Central County Dispatch memorial.

First responders gathered around the flag pole, flying at half-staff, during the dispatch call.

"There were many heroes that day and we will never forget the 343 brothers and sisters we lost," said Fire Chief Tom Vineyard.
