Burglary Results in Stolen Silver

Police say a home in Ballwin was burglarized last week when one or more intruders tried to take more than just valuable silverware.

The reports that a home was burglarized early last week, resulting in the successful theft of almost $800 worth of silver.

Police said the incident happened some time between Tuesday, Feb. 1 and Wednesday, Feb. 3 at a house on the 100 block of Lea Meadows Drive in Ballwin. The victims were on vacation, police said, when at least one person forced entry through a back door.

Although the burglar or burglars attempted to steal both a computer system and several silver-plated utensils, the computer system was recovered near the home's back porch.

β€œHe placed computers outside the doors – to take with or come back for," Sgt. Jim Heldmann said. "He may have been scared by something or startled and just ran out and left there."

The stolen silver is valued at $795. Heldmann said police do not have a description of possible suspects though the incident still is under the investigation.
