AUTO THEFT – The Ellisville Police Department reports that a used truck was stolen from on Manchester Road last week.

Police said the crime occurred between 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8 and 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, when a gold-colored, 2005 Ford F250 truck with a camper attached disappeared from business's used-car lot. The loss is estimated at $21,500.

Sgt. Nancy Walker of the Ellisville Police Department said the department is awaiting security footage for leads on suspects in the case.

There were no witnesses to the crime, she said.

"As a matter of fact, with many of these car dealers, they don't know something is missing until they start doing inventory."

Walker said the truck's theft was easier to spot, however, since the car and trailer were being used to barricade a row of cars in order to prevent unauthorized access. She said the truck likely was used to safeguard more expensive vehicles.

"But that was still a pretty good chunk of change," Walker said of the estimated losses.
