A West County man now faces four sexual assault charges in which he’s accused of sexually abusing elderly women in nursing homes.
Walter J. Martinez, 44, of the 400 block of Johanna Place Drive near Ballwin, was charged with two counts of deviate sexual assault, one count of forcible rape and one count of forcible sodomy.
The charges involve three elderly women. At least two of the women were residents at nursing homes in Ellisville and Chesterfield, police said.
Previously, Patch reported Martinez had been charged with two counts of deviate sexual assault. Ellisville and Chesterfield police investigated the two counts of deviate sexual assault. St. Louis County Police investigated the rape and sodomy charges.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued warrants for Martinez’ arrest Tuesday.
A $100,000 cash only bond has been issued.
Martinez worked as a hospice nurse’s aide for a company called Odyssey Hospice from May 22, 2012 through June 1, 2012. Martinez had provided hospice care to the victims, which included bathing the patients.
The St. Louis County Police Department is asking that anyone who may have come into contact with Martinez and needs to report an offense, to call 314 889-2341 or their local police agency.
