Parks Repairs, Solicitation Changes Expected at Ballwin Council

The Ballwin Board of Aldermen meeting scheduled for Monday night should include issues ranging from purchasing new police uniforms and changing solicitation laws to hiring a replacement prosecutor.

The Ballwin Board of Aldermen is scheduled to discuss the hiring of a replacement prosecutor, changes to the city's door-to-door solicitation laws and and several other issues starting at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 28 at the .

SOLICITATION (Bill # 3665)
"This legislation establishes revised standards for door-to-door solicitation."

INVESTMENTS (Bill # 3666)
"This legislation repeals Ordinance 04-48 and incorporates all investment policies into Section 4-4 of the Board Policy Manual."

INTERIM PROSECUTOR (Bill # 3667)

GOLF COURSE MOWER
The board is poised to purchase a golf course mower through MTI, who submitted the low bid of $29,317.45 with trade-in.

TENNIS COURT REPAIR
The board is poised to award a bid for repairs to a municipal tennis court to Frazier-Davis, who submitted the lowest of 5 bids in the amount of $12,861.

BALLWIN DAYS CO-CHAIRMAN
As a result of Tim Vincent’s resignation as Ballwin Days Co-Chairman, Mayor Pogue would like to appoint Darryl Holman to fill the remainder of this term.

SEVEN TRAILS ISSUES
This is regarding signage, retention wall deterioration and property issues.

STREET SWEEPING
The board is poised to approve a contract for services totalling $19,687.50 with Contractor and Municipal Sweeping Services for May, September and December street sweeping.

STREET SWEEPING DEBRIS DISPOSAL
The board is poised to accept a bid from IESI MO Champ Landfill, LLC, at a unit price of $45 per ton.

CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS DISPOSAL
The board is poised t0 "waive further formalities and award this contract to Peerless Landfill, at a unit price of $40 per ton," according to a summary provided by Marie Clark, Ballwin City Clerk.

WINTER STORM OPERATIONS
"To insure flexibility and effectiveness, it is, recommended that this entire section be replaced with simplified goal statements. A super majority vote is required to affect this change."

POLICE UNIFORMS
Police Chief Steven Schicker recommended the 2011 contract for police patrol uniforms be awarded to Leon Uniform Co., as a sole source vendor in an amount not to exceed $31,150.
