Ballwin Man Joins Rockwood School Board

Keith Kinder was elected to the Rockwood school board, according to Tuesday's unofficial election results.

Along with one other fresh face, a man from Ballwin will join the Rockwood School Board following Tuesday's election results.

Keith Kinder, as well as Eureka's Matt Doell, were elected board members following unofficial results reported late Tuesday. Kinder, Doel and incumbent Stephen Smith all were victorious in their efforts to secure one of the three available board seats. Doel and Kinder will replace current board members Darla Baker and Kim McGuiness.

Keith Kinder won with 7,068 votes, or 24.41 percent. Matt Doell received 5,761, or 19.89 percent. Stephen Smith received 5,095 votes, or 17.59 percent.

Unsuccessful candidate Mike Geller received 4,811 votes, or 16.61 percent. Roger Stock received 3,329 votes, or 11.50 percent. Kevin Mabie received 2,790 votes, or 9.63 percent. Write-in candidates accounted for 106 votes, or 0.37 percent.

The Rockwood Board of Education is scheduled to discuss the election results when it next meets at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 7 at in Ballwin.
