Cables by Ann Wagner Revealed Via WikiLeaks

Previously secret writings by Ann Wagner from Ballwin, the Republican seeking , recently were made public by WikiLeaks, a nonprofit group noted for breaking several controversial news stories.

Portions of Wagner's writing were featured in a recent report by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, which highlighted communications Wagner wrote as a U.S. ambassador in Luxembourg. 

Ann Wagner, who will face Ed Martin in the 2012 Republican primaries for Congress, aims to take over the 2nd District currently held by U.S. Rep. Todd Akin (R-Wildwood). Akin is vacating his House seat in order to run for U.S. Senate.

Although short of salacious details, Wagner's communication does provide insight into her work experience abroad, which included an interaction with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Wagner wrote that Merkel was an "articulate and engaging public speaker," and relayed the high points of Merkel's address back to U.S. officials.
