Dog Park, Donation Site Up for Wednesday Vote

The Ellisville City Council is scheduled to meet Wednesday evening to vote on proposals for a public dog park and a resale drop-off site.

The approval of a space earmarked just for Ellisville's four-legged friends, as well as a donation drop-off site benefitting veterans, both are scheduled for votes at Ellisville's city council meeting Wednesday night.

The dog park initiative gained momentum earlier this year under Councilmember Linda Reel, who said residents throughout the city expressed interest in the project during door-to-door inquiries with constituents. The spot would be located in Bluebird Park, and would be paid for , including the "Ellisville Pooch Plunge" dog swimming event scheduled for this fall.

Also on Wednesday night's agenda is the renovation of the former Jiffy Lube on Clarkson Road, which would be converted into in conjunction with pending sites in Fenton and Bridgeton.

• A representative of Coldwell Banker Gundaker will seek approval for a Charity Garage Sale for the benefit of the Ronald McDonald House on Saturday, September 17, 2011 from 7:00 a.m. until approximately 1:00 p.m. at 285 Clarkson Road.

• A representative of St. Clare of Assisi Men’s Club, 15642 Clayton Road, will seek approval to conduct their 9th annual Oktoberfest event, including the sale of malt liquor outside, on Friday October 7, 2011 from 4:00 pm-10:00 pm.

• Receipt and filing of Planning and Zoning Commission’s positive recommendation dated July 13, 2011 relative to the Petition of Missouri Jack, LLC for a conditional use permit to operate the existing Jack in the Box restaurant with a drive-through, 15354 Manchester, within the C-3 Commercial Zoning District.

• Receipt and filing of Planning and Zoning Commission’s positive recommendation dated July 13, 2011 relative to the Petition of Going Global, LLC, d/b/a “Little Gym of West County”, for a conditional use permit to allow a child development center, including gymnastics, dance, karate and sport skills training, at 15825 Manchester, within the C-3 Commercial Zoning District.

• Petition of BTR PC d/b/a “Clarkson Road Veterinary Group”, for a Conditional Use Permit to allow the operation of a veterinary clinic and related services at 349 Clarkson Road in the Maple Tree Shopping Center within the C-3 Commercial Zoning District.

• Petition of Missouri Jack, LLC for a conditional use permit to allow the operation of the existing Jack in the Box restaurant with a drive-through, 15354 Manchester, within the C-3 Commercial Zoning District.

• Bill #3228       An ordinance amending sections of title iv, land use, chapter 400, zoning regulations, of the Ellisville municipal code, relative to residential accessory buildings.

• Bill #3229       An ordinance to authorize Mayor Matt Pirrello to execute a contract on behalf of the City of Ellisville with St. Louis County for the collection of real and personal property taxes, sewer lateral fees and nuisance fees.

• Bill #3230       An ordinance amending chapter 500, building and building regulations, of the municipal code of the City of Ellisville by adopting the 2009 international building code, 2009 international residential building code, 2009 international plumbing code, and 2008 national green building standard.

• Resolution #07-20-11             A resolution allowing an area within Bluebird park to be used as a dog park.
