Group Targeting Ellisville Council to Meet Tuesday

The Ellisville Article 9 Alliance, formed in opposition to a pending Walmart Superstore, is scheduled to meet Tuesday to discuss the recall of city council members.

Residents of Ellisville unhappy with the city council's with tax incentives for the store's developer are expected to meet Tuesday evening.

The group, called the , is expected to discuss efforts to recall select city council members and lobby for state legislation curbing the use of TIF districts.

I would, but given how scary some of the supposed members are, I plan on staying away. There was one commenter on a similar article who is a huge supporter of this group, and she drops innuendos on supposedly knowing others' secrets (particularly if they do not agree with her 100%). Sad, because it's keeping good folks away.

I'm going. I missed most of the council meetings due to a standing obligation on Wednesday nights. I want to learn what the actions are that are being proposed.

Glad that at least one might be attending. This is so typical. I would like to attend but ...... If you do not attend you are giving up your right to complaine. In Ballwin people would attend one meeting say give a few minutes comments and then disappear. Never to show up again. What are the elected authorities to believe? It takes a continued effort, without which those few who vote or attend meetings or have relationships with the elected authories will prevail. It is interesting that there have been comments that only a few hundred people attended a meeting etc. Consider how many that it out of the entire commuinities population! But also remember the small percentage that votes.
