Jotte Takes Shot at Ballwin's Ann Wagner, Labeling as 'Establishment's' Pick

Does Wagner's new video with former Gov. Mike Huckabee reaffirm Jotte's assertion that she's part of the 'status quo'?

A week after Congressional primary candidate Dr. Randy Jotte painted Ann Wagner as the "establishment's designee" for Missouri's 2nd District, the campaign for the Ballwin Republican released a campaign video highlighting Wagner's endorsement by the high profile former governor and presidential candidate Mike Huckabee.

In an email to supporters and media outlets, Jotte, who resides in Webster Groves, said last week he officially filed as a candidate and cited a desire to reduce the national debt and cut down expenses associated with health care. Jotte works as an emergency room physician at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

Jotte said Republicans in power are responsible for a gridlock preventing solutions to health care reform, and identified Wagner as an obstacle to change.

β€œThere's no question Ann Wagner, my opponent, is the establishment's designee for this seat," Jotte said in the media statement. "But just as we Missourians rejected the establishment's coronation of Mitt Romney a few weeks ago, we're hungry to continue to reject the status quo.”

In a nearly 3-minute online campaign video announced Monday, Ann Wagner is shown with former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, who recently endorsed Wagner and rally last month.

To date, Wagner has served as a member of the Lafayette Township Committee, and chaired the Missouri Republican Party. She also co-chaired the Republican National Committee before an announced in 2010. Wagner has repeatedly said her campaign for the 2nd Congressional District is her first bid for a publicly elected office.
