Public Hearing Wednesday On Ellisville Development Moratorium

The move would apply to property adjacent to the Walmart project approved for the area.

The city of Ellisville's Planning and Zoning Commission meets Wednesday night to hold a public hearing on a new moratorium on a high-profile piece of property.

A previous moratorium on development of property adjacent to the plat approved for a new Walmart, including the former McDonalds, Nissan and Cadillac dealerships at the southwest corner of Manchester and Kiefer Creek Roads, has expired.

Ada Hood, Ellisville's Director of Planning & Community Development, said the city has received inquiries about partial development within that cluster of property. Hood said the city has determined that it "would be detrimental to the development of a town center."
