"I think that they’ve got too many interests to get something done that’s going to make a positive impact. I think it’s just going to kind of get us by, but nothing like the results we’re looking for. I think they’re all too, you know, self-serving.” – Jeff Ferrario, Ballwin

“In business, when you manage a business and you mismanage it to the point of near-bankruptcy, you get fired because you’re held accountable. If this is a democracy, then why are these people still holding offices? Basically by raising the debt limit, all you’re doing is changing the rules of the game. And it prevents them from holding themselves accountable.” – Scott Kohles, Oakville

“I think it kind of had to be done, but it’s a sign of things to come that aren’t that great …The Fed should not exist.” - Kyle Tuberty, Affton

“I don’t really have an opinion on the debt being raised, but how the government is handling it. I think they’re acting like a bunch of three-year-olds at a daycare center fighting over the same fire truck, personally.” - Patrick H., Affton.
