Thousands of Cars in Ellisville Damaged by Hail Need Repair

The city council approved a special use permit for an Ellisville dealership to temporarily use a vacant body shop to start repairs.

The Ellisville city council unanimously approved a special permit for the dealership to use a body shop facility at the former KIA dealership on Manchester road. The permit was granted during a special meeting of the city council held Thursday night at the city’s Park Administration building at Bluebird Park.

Bob Kelly, owner of Royal Gate Dodge, said his dealership had many vehicles that were damaged during recent hail storms and needed to be fixed as soon as possible. He said the dealership did not have enough space to deal with the damage.

“There are over 1000 cars on our lot that are damaged,” Kelly said.  “If  we can’t sell them in a timely fashion , it creates a problem. We have to get our cars fixed.”
