TRAFFIC ALERT: Route 141 Lanes Open, But Parkway Detour Tuesday

MoDOT is opening lanes on Route 141 in West County between St. Luke's Hospital and Olive Boulevard Monday, but Parkway students will take a detour Tuesday when classes start.

The  sent out the traffic alert in a news release Monday.

Route 141 lanes are opening Monday afternoon in both directions between between St. Luke's Hospital and Olive Boulevard in West County. Lanes are set to open between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. 

Meanwhile, Parkway Central students should plan on taking a detour when school starts Tuesday. Woods Mill Road between Parkway Central and St. Lukes will remain closed for two more weeks, according to MoDOT. The school can be accessed by taking Route 141 north to Olive Boulevard, then taking a left onto Olive and another left onto Woods Mill Road (Old Route 141).

More details on Tuesday's lane changes are in the following news alert sent out by MoDOT.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will open the second through lane in each direction on the Route 141 project between St. Lukes Hospital and Olive Boulevard this afternoon.

Crews will open the second through lane on southbound Route 141 before 3:30 p.m., while the second through lane on northbound Route 141 should open before 5:30 p.m., as crews complete striping work. 

A portion of the auxiliary lane between the Ladue Road exit and Olive Boulevard entrance ramp will remain closed so construction vehicles can enter and exit the roadway. 

In addition, Woods Mill Road between Parkway Central and St. Lukes remains closed for two more weeks.  Since Parkway starts classes tomorrow, parents, teachers and students south of Ladue heading to the school will need to take Route 141 north to Olive, take a left onto Olive and another left onto Woods Mill Road (Old Route 141) to get to the campus. 

MoDOT engineers will monitor traffic flows at Route 141 and Olive and at Olive and Woods Mill Road as traffic is heading to the Parkway campus to adjust signals where possible.
